Welcome to Adult Children of Alcoholics and other dysfunctional families
Victoria, Australia

updated June 2018

A DEFINITION OF OUR PROGRAM

ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS is a spiritual program based in 12-Steps and 12-Traditions offering "a day at a time" recovery from compulsive patterns rooted in childhood, the results of growing up in alcoholic or dysfunctional families.

We recover by using the 12-Steps as tools to reparent our inner child and to build a healthy self-identity.

ACoA/ACA is not allied with AA, Al-Anon or any other program, institution or facility. We cooperate with all 12-Step programs and with professionals in the field of alcoholism, chemical dependency and codependency treatment, seeking to "carry the message" to all who may still suffer.

There are no dues or fees for ACoA/ACA membership. We are self-supporting through our own contributions. ACoA/ACA has no opinion on outside issues, neither endorses nor opposes any causes, therapies or enterprises. Our primary purpose is to recover from the effects of family dysfunction and to carry the recovery message to all who suffer.
